Since you were involved in the editing of the book - relevancy ?
And besides, I did some proof reading and I supplied some photos for the book, end of story.
Re the Galleon vase. Page 67, We are thankful to Jim for supplying us with the information and for the photo of his vase painted by his grandmother which can be see in the coloured section. What does it matter where it was made ?
Let me know when your book on Bakewells/Newtone/Trent is in the pipeline because I'd be only too happy to proof read it too ;-).

The photograph of the galleon vase was under the heading "Jack Merton", and I must confess I was also under the misapprehension that all the pieces under his name were attributed to Jack. Glad to hear that's not the case.
Speaking of galleons, I found this today (excuse the dust - I haven't cleaned it yet):
Only one I'm afraid, so now I'll probably spend the next twenty years trying to find a match ๐

anyone know of or seen this type of vase before? feels like sandpaper on outside, no makers mark anywhere, and i feel ridges near center of base..a time frame and locatition would be awesome.
