sugar tong/patry tong need help to identify please

Hi

I bought these many years ago and I think they are old but not sure, i cant identify the metal , there are no marks and i think some of its cast mind you the scissor pin looks hand made , i saw some old ones on the net and they had cast bits as well .  Any help would be appreciated

i would hazard a guess they are EPNS (Silver plate) if you can not see any silver hallmarks on them. without seeing the actual tong ends no-one would be able to help with either being sugar nips or pastry tongs.

age...well given the amount of tarnish on them they havent been cleaned in at least 10 years and as to actual age again i would suggest first half twentieth century circa 1930-40
