thanks everyone.

Yes having a 14yr old sure has made me feel old but then playing with my 3 yr old makes me feel young again, lol.

She has chosen not to have a "party", shes too mature for that, lol

Instead she and her friends are going out for afternoon tea on Sunday

If having a 14 year old daughter makes you feel old, just wait till you have a 14year old granddaughter....not only will you feel old but you will BE old.Smiley LOL

Best wishes to Miss 14!

My eldest daughter is 61 years old, but I don't feel old. I keep telling people that my children are getting old. We just celebrated my youngest 50th birthday.

I was fine when I turned 40, it didn't bother me, but my mum was a mess. She didn't think she was old enough to have a (youngest) child that age ๐Ÿ™‚
She coped much better on my 50th

That ebay cafe was a funny old board and you're right, time surely does fly when you're having fun being a mum.

Re: 14 years ago today...

23 years ago(in two weeks) I was serving a young couple in my home business(costume hire)

I was heavily pregnant with my third child.

THe young couple, boyfriend/girlfriend around 20, yrs old, were booking two hire costumes to pick up later that week for a party on Saturday.

It wasa Tuesday evening and I was writing the invoice, by hand in those days, when I put my hand on my stomach and gave a long slow breathe out.

The young man innocently asked "How long have you got to go?"

"I'm going tonight" I replied in that raspy voice you have when you're having a contraction.

The young mans face drained of colour and he rushed his girl out of my shop as fast as his shaking hand had finished signing the paper.

lol Annies you were a trooper. We were certainly stoical years ago weren't we. I worked up till the day before I had to go in to be induced with my youngest, 25 years ago tomorrow. I worked till 10pm as I had to finish everything and was in the hospital at 7am to be induced. And it was an hour and a half drive home and back in the next morning. ๐Ÿ™‚

My daughter was due to go on maternity leave the Friday. On the Friday she was in the delivery room talking to her replacement temp on the phone between contractions.  ๐Ÿ˜„
