My heart goes out to their families.

I am so glad those little boys have been found, what a relief, poor little mites must have been so frightened on their own at night in the cold and dark.

I heard such statements like:  "They were seen playing at intersection"  and then there was another sighting at ...such and such.  If I see a small child without an adult on the street I ask them where are they going and where they belong.  And would attempt to take them home, or alert their parents.

that's very easy to say. I thought I was doing the right thing one day at the local shopping centre - this littley came running out of the shop and straight into traffic in the car park. I was having coffee outside - got up and ran over, picked the little tacker up, turned around to see the mother bearing down on me like I was going to take the boy. Looked at me hatefully and accusingly!! There was no 'thankyou' - she grabbed / snatched the boy from me and turned on her heel and stormed away.

note I said I would be asking them questions, not picking them up.  I would only pick  child up if it was in immediate danger. like sitting in middle of the road.

Mind you, some people just do not give a bleep.  Some years ago, at dusk, just as I  turned a corner there was a small child about 3 sitting in middle of the road, and I only just managed to slam on my breaks.  I dragged her on the footpath, and she told that she lives in the next house, but refused to come with me.  So I went to talk to her parents; as i approched I could see the mother watching TV.  When I told her that the girl was sitting on the road the mother said: " I get my husband when he gets home to get her" and slammed the door in my face.  She did sort of look over my shoulder to see where the child was though.  Woman Mad

Yeah! I was bound to stand in the middle of two-way oncoming traffic to question the little blighter.
