If I was stuck in my bedroom because I was 260kg not one member of my family would give me a calorie more than I needed each day to survive.
How can a family let their wife and mother get to such a state?
Sure she needs help but who keeps feeding her?
Oh, it was on A Current Affair.

punch drunk - yes, I'm pretty short, 165cms. I was 80kgs when I had my bub and was in about normal size 14 clothes - any bigger than that and I'd have to have started shopping in plus size shops - or at least different shops to where I usually shop (most don't go above a 14).
So I would consider that at 80kgs at my height, I would be overweight and at the point of not being able to wear normal sizes - and this would be a BIG indicator to me that I needed to loose weight. Obviously I was pregnant so it was a bit different, most people need to gain weight when pregnant to have a healthy baby.
I guess, I would say, once you get out of "normal" size clothes and into "plus size" that's an indicator that you probably should make some serious lifestyle changes.

aspie...too funny and short memory? You are roughly my height from memory and certainly no size 14 after your daughter was born. You were carrying quite a bit of extra weight for some time. But good for you if you managed to lose some.

easier though for the judgemental to have a go
Yes I am being judgemental but of her husband not her.
The first day when she could not get out of bed should have been the day her husband took control of the food available to her.
She can't even get up to go to the toilet by herself.
I don't know why he keeps giving her too much food.
She has already had stomach banding and now is asking for help, maybe she is hoping for some sort of freebie.
She is not going to be able to get much help until she can get out of the house and to get out of the house she needs her husband to step up and help her.

It can be the type of food she is given.
If she was fed a strict carb free diet, just lots of salad with meat eggs or cheese to accompany the salad, she'd drop heaps.
Then she could start mild exercising.
P.S. going carb free is VERY hard.

twinkle-stars - nope....I think you must have me confused with someone else. I've never been bigger than a size 14 in my life 🙂 And like many people, my weight goes up and down, but I've never had a problem with the way I look, or a problem with fitting into regular size clothes.

She's living the dream.
I'm sick to death of a 55 hour week, turning upto work with an injured disc in my back.
Having to drive home behind slow people...
Going back to work the next day in the dark...
Being literally glued to my bed sounds good somedays.

I don't know topside, I think I'd rather my bad back then have my health deteriorate to the point I could die. Sounds like she is in a very unhealthy place both emotionally and physically.
Sounds like your life is very full atm, try when you can to take care of you...

I was half joking.
The lying down bit sounds great after a long day.
Bed sores....maybe not.

She probably demands food like a little baby cuckoo in a starlings nest.
Her family are compelled to feed her.
Very sad, I hope there is a good outcome.
