Cars History - 'Car 10' ex Belgium (GTM Engineering) / ex Petch NZ / AVDT 240T. - 'Car 4'Australian Volvo Dealer Team (AVDT) 2nd car was ex Belgium 1986 RAS Nordica built Test 'T' car. (Note: RH drive rather than the usual euro LH drive), being fully rebuilt by the Volvo Factory before shipment to Oz.
Gee, That must be the only RHD 240T ex-factory
Cheers.
btw, to get a replica running, what body model 240 2 door would you use, 242 GT?
Yes i guess so. but a four -door would work, and why not ? 🙂 the way i remembered the John Bowe driven car was RHD was from the cover of one of those "Great Race" books at forrest elbow or the dipper ..( i cant remember exactly but i remembered him sitting on the opposite side to the frankevic car) after reading the cost of the build though, it's a pipe dream ATM (just like the Megane 265 to blow johns doors off )

AS the OP states "4 cylinder cars are hot", I would add that those that are current production off the shelf models are cool(er).

well i never said a marina or bellet was cool. but the kiwi driver winning the ATCC in a volvo sure was . anyway, as a 4 cyl fan of long standing i applaud 'monmans choice' ..its cool. (for want of a better expression) 🙂

In the day 4's were nothing weren't they. We have the Focus at the moment and it really is a good car, its as nearly good as the FG.

Umm, 4 doors are heavier arent they and wouldnt quite look the same
If one was keen, Volvo in 1985 built 500 homologation cars...most of them ended up in America..it would probably work out cheaper to source one there & ship it over.
(& you cant beat orginality)
