This is for my brother who I don't see that often so really have no idea what his interests are so he is always the hardest to buy for at Christmas.
I only want to spend $40.
Any ideas?
Not many clues I can give except:
He's a bit showy. He's a house-husband to babies. Lives in a McMansion. Doesn't really appreciate beautiful or the finer things - more a fake Rolex kind of guy.
I'm stuck.

As mainecoon suggested a gift voucher for a store/online store that sells DVD's may be suitable. If he plants himself in front of the giant TV frequently.

oh so you feel obligated due to the party marti, i never do:-D
makes it more difficult an economical gift if hes not handy, cos i reckon a dremel power tool would make a good gift for a bloke with variable speed.

Does he buy you decent presents (ones where an effort has been made to choose something you would like, not meaning high $$ value)?

What about a really nice bottle opener or a topper for any wine that's left over ??
or.......I just received (today) a jar of wild hibiscus flowers in syrup. You pop one into a glass then pour champers or any sparkling wine over and it opens up..You can also eat it.
or....a beautiful wine glass or set of two, crystal or a snobby name brand type LOL.....still tastes the same no matter if it's drunk from a jam jar but I know some people are a little precious !

At a 50th birthday party I went to last year, one wag had given a gift "50 Rocks!".
It was - literally - 50 rocks (stones), as the base, then a few colourful helium balloons, streamers, etc that had 50 Rocks! printed on them, tied to the base of rocks. You could do something like this and attach the 40 scratchie cards (as suggested above) to it.
