A Cautionary Tale.

Stumble, stumble, Coalition,

What an unforeseen position

So convinced you were a shoe-in,

Expectations now in ruin,

Stumble, stumble Coalition,

Bet we know just what you’re wishin’.

Stumble, stumble, Coalition,

Ousting Julia was your mission,

Had success, but pushed too hard -

Hoist upon your own petard.

Stumble, stumble, Coalition,

Bet we know just what you’re wishin’.

Stumble, stumble, Coalition,

What a sorry opposition:

Dirty tricks worked all too well,

Dreams of glory gone to hell.

Stumble, stumble, Coalition,

Bet we know just what you're wishin'.

A Cautionary Tale.

There  is a lot of self assuring occurring lately, why?

'Hoist upon your own petard." or more correctly: "hoist with one's own petard'"

How exactly does that apply in the current political scene TGSE?, because "Ousting Julia was your mission" was the last thing the Libs wanted.

The petard was placed  by the ALP/public opinion, and the fuse was litt by the ALP Caucus.

Actually the Libs were hoist with the ALP petard, which was long overdue, but finally well placed!

John, it may have been her own party that delivered the coup de grace, but it was the Coalition and their media lackeys who made her position untneable. They assumed if they kept up the pressure the Labor party would implode - and now that miscalculation has come back to bite them. Hence,  they have been well and truly hoist on (or with)  their own petard.

Nursery rhymes are repetitious for a very good reason - it makes them easier to remember (and harder to forget)

Your ignore (again) that  is the last thing the Libs wanted, also the ALP manged to implode without any external help, other than that of Rudd's internal machinations.

As for " media lackeys" I would suggest that Gillard was very poorly advised by her Chief Media Advisor/Communications Director, John McTernan. Did I mention he was over here, from the UK,  on a 457 Visa? Perhaps the ALP could not find a really  bad advisor over here!

LNP Speaks with the Bogan Slogan
The bogan slogan, all night and all day
The bogan slogan, wag-the-dog drone on
Don't let the real facts get in the way

Let's have a cheer for the bogan slogan
The bogan slogan is the LNPs' gift
The bogan slogan, negative drone on
Nothing else there, if you get my drift

Who's gonna vote for the bogan slogan
The bogan slogan, ain't a job well done
The bogan slogan, ambiguous as Vogon
Better grab a towel don't panic & run.....ROOOOLY !!!

Howdi 'she'.....how would you be?
