i can't think of a good title,so that will have to do for now. goblins and i were taking about our jewlery and that we'd like to chat about it,and maybe show pictures. i'd love to see other people's pretties too,be it joolies,or china,or dishes,or statuary,or flowers, whatever YOU think is pretty, and special to you!

here's a couple of pairs of my vintage clipon earrings....

these are gifts,so i have no idea aboiut their provenance.

lol, sorry all! there used to be a jewellry board for vintage costume stuff on the usa boards, and the regulars were called the joolies, and so was the stuff they sold. it sort of morphed into all jewelry being referred to as joolies. i forgot y'all wouldn't know that here! ๐Ÿ™‚

goblins, thank you, those are my faves. they were my very first present from my beloved FIL,before we even met! those,i'll keep forever!

donna, as soon as i get my camera back,i''ll get pics of the earrings that match , if katie hasn't borrowed them.

lol, stawka,i DID check my"strine" website to make sure the spelling wasn't the same! ๐Ÿ˜„

icy,i LOVE that pin! and the necklace and earrings too,but especially the pin!  and yes, miss theodora is DEFINITELY the bee's knees! did you make her yourself? must show her to my friend claire!

boris, those are adorable! is blythe the original sculptor? they remind me of the beatrix potter animals,or the wind in the willows animals.

omg!! i'd love to own enamelwork like that! mine are mostly the framed kind, the joolies referred to it as stained glass enamel, because it was"inset" in the raised metal lines that shaped the piece.

does that make any sense at all? let me see if i have anything in my file that would show you....bbl.

Sin, I think that you will find that your pieces are probably called "cloissone" which is a very old Asian type of jewellery work. Sorry not quite sure of the correct spelling, but someone here smarter than me will know. It is very beautiful and delicate work and there is quite a lot of it here in Australia.

Sin, Blythe is the doll with a big head and eyes that change colour, the little figures are Scottish, they were handmade in Scotland when i got my first one (many years ago). Love your dolls.

Doris, customised Blythe with her new mohair hair and Ruby.
