Well that's really odd that they are now saying that the account was hijacked and the account holder didn't know about the listing because Daydream Believer contacted the seller and she said that she had received a lot of emails about her auction.

They probably read this thread and saw how many people think they are a mean mummy LOL

If the account was hijacked it would have been the person who hijacked the account replying to ddb and others pretending to be the pretend mother in the listing, not the person who really owns the account.
A spokesman for eBay said: "The person who owned that account never made the listing. There's not much fact at all in the story."
from she eles link.

If that's true Am then how did Fairfax get hold of her.
Shortly after Fairfax alerted the alleged vendor the auction was taken down because the items were 'no longer available'.

Anyway. Of course it was a hoax but I'm sure it was just a joke or a way to get more attention to their scalpin listing.

The alleged vendor would be the one who supposedly hijacked the account. If the account was truly hijacked the media wouldn't be able to contact the original owner of the account because the hacker would have changed the ebay accounts contact details to theirs?
Either way - weird.

No Am3. The vendor was just caught out and embarrassed by the talk and the media attention. That's what I think.

The account may not have been hijacked - simply accessed by someone who was not authorised to use it , possibly even someone else in the house.
