I have a mate (UK) who has just registered on eBay. Now although the UK eBay boards are an exact facsimile of the Oz ones in every way, for some odd reason he does not have the HTML option at the top of the posting page, centred between the 'Rich Text' and the 'Preview' field.
Is this because he is a new member, and hasn't been registered as yet for a month, or is it because eBay don't like his ID, working on the premise that, 'if your face doesn't fit' scenario ?
"Curiouser and Curiouser", cried Alice.

A mod told me that the 'insert code' button should not be visible to us.
Didn't know why it was

Cheers, Stawks. Yes, he has checked everything in his profile, ticked and unticked stuff that is relevant and irrelevant - he is a bit of a pc buff, but this has foxed him - and the elusive HTML is still in hiding.
Just checked on the RT to look for a newbie thinking that he may have started to post - I didn't ask his ID - there isn't one, but I see within the last three hours - and not a single reply btw - the last of the old brigade (been there since the first stone was laid) has posted a thread pleading for past posters to return, and lurkers to say something. This is strange, because he is fully aware why the forum is now in the doldrums, and has been so for quite a long time.
I've also explained the situation to my mate, so why he wants to go on there and talk to himself, is beyond me.

This is the link which the UK HTML posting tab opens to a particular thread when clicked on. The link might still work for him, even if the tab is not visible:
