It is the pensioners and disabled who require doctors appointments more, and its not just the doctors appointments its all the subsequent tests etc which it will also apply to. Which also result in lots of prescriptions.

Regular healthy folks rarely go to the doctors so this wont affect them.

Using alcohol and smokes as an analogy for cronically sick, is sick. When elderly person doesn't got to the doctors and instead dies of a stroke. What is he going say the price of a couple of beers could have saved a life.

My partner has serious mental health issues, and also is going through breast cancer. Both these issues cause an enormous amount of doctors and test visit. let alone many many prescritions. All on a Disabilty pension. Allready struggles with depression and lack of self worth. Now feels like she is labelled as a burden on the fat cats.

All we need now is one of these box tickers to question whether she should be allowed to have the disability pension to push her over the edge.

I feel that if someone dies, he will believe it is because they didn't make the 'right' choices. He and Tony are so out of touch with the stresses many Australians face.

I'm sorry about your own situation. It's hard going and I hope your partner will be treated gently.

Lane-ends, tell your partner that she isn't the burden, the fat cats are the burden on us. I hope all goes well if your partner is forced into a "assessment" for her DSP. The only detail so far is the 8 hours a week, so if some "independent" and I use the word "independent" very loosely assessor says a person can work 8 hrs a week, then they will be forced off the DSP. It's a ridiculous notion and if it's anything at all like the new workers comp legislation in NSW the assessments will be a farce, just a blatant act to kick disabled people off the DSP.

He might be offended by wind farms.

People are offended by the insulting winds of stereotype that blows out of his mouth.

To make such comments days after being snapped smoking cigars demonstrates a total lack of comprehension of the average wage earner's world.

Booze, cigarettes and pokies are the most heavily taxed of all luxuries. Those people who indulge should be given a knighthood for putting their health and sanity on the line for the good of the country.
