Seeking halal certification to secure an OS airline contract was good for that Australian business.

If their dairy products now have to cost more to cover that lost income are those who forced the issue, by joining the social media attacks, going to buy the products?

I suspect most of them were never buying the product anyway.

What farmer? The man in the photo is the sales and marketing manager. A company decision to drop the halal label.

Note to all: yearly fee was $1000. Well below the up to $30 000 the anti-halal label social media campaigns spread.

Oh yeah, bushies, clearly.

Australian interests can be sold off to anyone. As long as the dollar rolls in who cares about aussie values and ethics.

Anyone who doesn't jump on the gravy train is "stupid".

These guys have the right attitude. From the link, another SA brand.

"Iconic pie and pastry manufacturer Vili’s confirmed the company had also been the target of the anti-halal group, but said it had no plans to bend to pressure from “hate mail and ignorant comments”.

The issue here has nothing to do with Aussie i interests bring sold off.

Quite the opposite actually. If smaller regional businesses can get export contracts (with or without halal cert. required) that is more likely to ensure they can grow as a company, employ more people, be more profitable...continue to stay in business.

Well HELLO, Am.

The point being that unless you're halal certified, you have Buckley's chance of business growth...

Buckley's or Nunn (none) that is...

You think that's right?

Get halal certification or you're out the market share. No matter how good or cost-effective your product is.

Smacks of old-fashioned stand-over tactics to me.

Would it not  make sense that if the export market required Hahal certification, they would get it, so they can export? who is going to buy the exports?
