ADHD.........does it exist, or just an excuse?

A lot of people get mis-diagnosed with it, I do know that much.

You have to be fully educated, informed and undertand it to pass any comment or judgement.

A few on this forum are well versed on this.....they have lived with it.

I don't think it is stupidity, some are just very naughty, I know of 2 children who were diagnosed with it but it turns out their mother drank heavily during pregnancy, they were diagnosed with adhd by many so called educated experts etc and they were completely wrong about it. Those children were medicated.

How do you know they were wrong? What makes you believe that?

I am close to the family, they were on Insight a few months ago if you happened to see it. The foster mother described one of the girls as the most difficult she had ever taken care of. The program was not about adhd but many had been misdiagnosed with it.

I am not disbuting that some are misdignosed as it is with many things. But it takes trained experts and a lot of time to come to the right conclusion,

It is real, I have seen it in action.

Some children can have quality of life without medication, some can't.

There will always be some who use it as an excuse. There will always be misdiagnosis until/if, they find a test for it.
