No, that was my point, there is no magical answer with or without a diagnosis, it's like raising kids, they are all indiviual, what works for one may not work for another, so you figure out what does work for each individual and work with the flow. (I have 5 kids so I know it's not one size ifts all approach to anything, just wanted to share) :-x

Did anyone watch this show last night? It was interesting and I felt so sad for Andrews mum.
E280 Propionic acid ...the tests with the rats was amazing. I am guessing that buying bread without it is a good thing for everyone.

Interesting program worth a watch, especially by people without children who will, or might need, this scheme. Please share with anyone who may be interested.

Ok guys question for those of you who have to deal with schools. I asked for assistance from the region for the travelling teacher instead a recommendation was made for me to contact child first.
I am absolutely horrified as that is a report concerning the wellbeing of a child. I fail to see how that relates to asking about advice that makes a learning environment optimum for a child with autism or asking for advice regarding curriculum and education???
I'm not 100% sure if that means they are reporting me or not but I wasn't happy with them. How can they when they have never meet a child come to that conclusion? Does anyone know what your rights are in this situation???
I highly doubt anything would come of it but its not the point.

Could it just be that they think child first will have the answers for you?
Like you, I fail to see how asking for help and advice from region can result in being reported.

Krazy I'm hoping and thinking that maybe the teacher just misunderstood the purpose of child first and thought they could help. Luckily I'd done some research and gave them the name of the appropriate resource when I spoke to the wellbeing co coordinator as I need an approval from the school to access it.
I've also arranged to meet next year if DD is approved so that they can put a name to a face. So maybe all that will help.
It just left me gobsmacked and when I speak again to the welfare/well being person I might just get some clarity regarding it all. Fingers crossed its just a misunderstanding. I explained that the agency I volunteer with handles the child first.
It'll all work out but its not a wonder people are reluctant to get help, sometimes they just need to listen to what is actually needed!
I'm looking for a tutor for DD and might actually see if I can find a specialist teacher consultant for a review and suggestions of how I can best create a learning environment conducive to learning for her.

Interesting link for some who might be able to use it.
Although it may not seem like it, people with Aspergers are amazing people. As two people diagnosed with Aspergers, weโve seen this first hand. We know that with the right tools, techniques, and support system, everyone on the spectrum can grow up to live an amazing, fulfilling life.
