We have people spreading the hate for everyone from the PM to the disabled and refugees everyday.
Today we have Adam Goodes, who truly lived up to his name.

Goodes needs to grow up and stop playing the racist, sympathy card, which he seems to do so well .... now call me a racist, cause frankly I couldnt care less, I dont like him, I never have and I never will and it's not due to the colour of his skin
Ofcourse it is. It's a descriptive term which you agree with me she is. Obviously we wouldn't say that to her.

Here's my 2 cents worth. I've always considered bigotry and racism is based on intent. Unless you're a mind reader you have no argument.
Yep, thats always been my take on it too.
Just another point. Aboriginals do not have anywhere the stigma and bad press as in say QLD or NT compare to melbourne. So booing in Melbourne is more likely for someone being a whinger than because of their race.
I've been thinking about that point myself. Those of us that are less exposed to indiginous people are probably less likely to be racist (granted some people will believe the opposite) and way more likely to wonder what all the fuss is about. We havent seen the ugliness from either side of the fence like many others have and I think we are more tolerant because of it.
I have been trying to read both sides of this argument and although I feel for Goodes, I think the whole thing has been blown completely ot of proprtion and I cant see me ever being convinced booing is racist, or more to the point, that everyone who boos Adam Goodes is racist.
But then what do I know? Apparently I'm also racist for not believing booing is racist 😕
I really feel like I'm in the twilight zone.

Not one non-Goodes supporter person has said "The person who told Goodes to 'go back to his zoo' should be ashamed of themselves". Nor has any one of these people admitted that this (this time said by a grown man) was a racist comment. An uncalled for comment. A degrading comment.
Very little has been said about the actual racism by anyone on either side of the argument. Probably because there's no argument, its definitely racist, what is there to say about it? Wasnt it dealt with by security?
Booing on the other hand can be percieved as being racist, but that doesnt necessarily make it racist. Well until now it didnt.

One that appears to have been the final straw for Goodes.
Yep. Keep on blaming the victim. Cause he deserved that doesn't he? Because of his "beahviour". Because he is a "sook".
It is easier to blame the victim than admit that many Australians are racist isn't it?
You know a 13 yr old doesn't have the comprehension of aboriginal hisotry. Concede it.
Just coz' there're Australian that are racist doesn't follow that anyone is blaming the victim???
It's not about whether he deserves it or not. The issue is people are assuming it's about race and condemning him because of it which it needlessly may not even be the case.

This is an interesting q and a with Adam Goodes from June 2015? or just updated 4 June 2015 not sure?
an excerpt
Football isn’t that simple though is it? You’ve admitted to carrying “baggage” – how much of your game is mental?
Ninety per cent. When my mind is clear, my body feels good and I play well. When I’m physically injured I do more meditation. The mind is a powerful thing – it plays tricks on you all the time – but you can use it to trick your body the other way too. When it comes to ‘baggage’ we’ve all got it. It’s the extent to which you let it affect you and how you control it that decides whether you win or lose. Me? I’m human. Criticism and outside factors from my past affect me. So I do yoga, meditate and I visit a sports psychologist most weeks. Most of the time we don’t even talk about footy, I just debrief and talk about random stuff to keep myself ticking over.
Very Zen. But doesn’t every footballer live or die by his level of ‘mongrel’?
I didn’t have mongrel at the start of my career. But I’ve learned since that I can cross the white line, find some mongrel and still be the person I want to be off the field. That balance has been a long time coming for me. But the heartache of losing the 2006 Grand Final by a point and the disappointment of falling short in big games helps you find that mongrel and fuels a burning desire to do better. I want to be the best footballer and captain and man I can be, but that doesn’t mean focusing on myself. The true sign of great leadership is bringing the best out of others.

I believe that the AFL and NRL are racist in having "Indigenous" games. Why not have "tartan" games, or "shamrock" games to commemorate the historic background of other players.
Perhaps, at an opportune moment, a player could bring out the swords and do a fling.

Melbourne is one of the most multicutural cities in the world. THere're definitely stigma in the past against the Italians, more recently against the Indians and Chinese and Somalians. Aboriginals, nope. We like them here. THat's why Melbourne people react to being called racist so strongly here.

I like the idea of multicultureal round and women's round.

That guy was an obvious idiot and racist,(but again he could have been acting on being angry towards
Goodes on the "treatment" of the girl and that's what brought it out).
One that appears to have been the final straw for Goodes.

No-one deserves "it",(but an Aussie wont put up with "taunts" either and that's what Goodes did).
It is easier to blame the victim than admit that many Australians are racist isn't it?
Off course there are racist Aussies out there and IMHO that will never change,(you might reduce the number
but you will never have Aus as racist free as there are racists on both "sides").
There are many Aboriginals out there that are racist towards the "white" man but that seems to never get
brought up.
The best "slaggers" are the Aborigines,(their banter at each other leaves a "white" man way behind).
But when that's directed at a "white" man it's just as hurtful as racism,(it's a form of reverse racism).

Is that your argument??? You do know the mistreatment of aboringals throughout History. You're more likely to die young and earn less, be less educated. You do realise it's not the same thing right when you call someone white?
