We have people spreading the hate for everyone from the PM to the disabled and refugees everyday.
Today we have Adam Goodes, who truly lived up to his name.

saying you are offended by this seems rather odd to me - it shouldn't matter to anyone how he identifies himself.

OK. And this isn't a racial thing?
All I can say is that I'm glad that Adam Goodes knows that people (good people) understand why he had just had enough. If anyone want's to carry it on at the game then it shows exactly what they are.

I think that, despite the defence of the spear throwing in the media, he has probably been warned not to do it again. I think there needs to be a redefinition of what constitutes an offensive gesture towards the crowd and simulating throwing a weapon shouldn't be acceptable. Sport is between the teams and if there needs to be warlike gestures they should be directed at the opposition, not the spectators.
I keep imagining the crowd just falling silent every time he gets the ball now and I imagine it would be strange and unnerving. It would be a weird atmosphere.

I don't think so Punch. I think that most people can accept that the game must go on and things will be as usual. Not the incessant booing for no reason other than a gang sheep mentality.

Yeah i know it wont happen like that, but I cant quite get my head around what will happen. Will people boo at all, how do they decide whats acceptable booing and what crosses a line? Will security pounce on anyone who boos, or just anyone that boos Goodes? Will Goodes react to or accept a small amount of booing if he plays for a free?
Or maybe I'm just overthinking it. We're going to a game in a couple of weeks and no doubt we'll be booing and cheering as we see fit. I'm just glad its not a Swans game, I honestly think I'd be nervous about it.
Wonder if they'll play as well this week with Goodes back in the line up?

Well now I have heard it all.
Apparently Goodes is more white than black anyway.
So HE has no right to be banging on about his ancestry.
And HE is being racist for not acknowledging his white side.
In fact it is downright OFFENSIVE that he doesn't bang on about his white side.
3 things:
But apparently all of this hatred has nothing to do with his race but ALL to do with the way he plays the game lol. I think this last page of this thread has thrown that excuse right out the window.
