We have people spreading the hate for everyone from the PM to the disabled and refugees everyday.
Today we have Adam Goodes, who truly lived up to his name.

Ergo, uneducated.

I don't believe it is uneducated...... I believe it is just a choice made. Disrespect.

IMO a overreaction by Goodes, heard worse!!
you may have but have you been called racist names all your life?
Why do people oppose efforts to stopping the bullying and racism?
on 25-05-2013 06:47 PM
maybe because it doesn't affect them in any way?
Never hear it, never see it, so it can't be happening?

It obviously affects them daily, because they all have amazing reasons to justify and excuse it.
AZ I don't mean school education. I mean life education... The experience that enables people to appreciate similarities & differences, to have the ability to understand and empathise, .. to differentiate between the ills of one person's behaviour and not subsequently link it to all others in his race... Things like that.

and Goode said it hurt more than any other past incident
As I don't know anything about Goode or football why would he find it more hurtful than any previous incident?
Because it came from a 13 year old girl or the use of the word "ape" or the two combined?
I didn't know ape was a racist term but I wouldn't call anyone that if I went to the football, actually I don't think I would ever go to the football.
How disappointing that a 13 year old would call out something like that to a player.

Perhaps because so much has been done by the AFL to eliminate this kind of verbal abuse? Or maybe he'd rather be yelled at by the crowd for not playing well as opposed to for his race? Or maybe because he learnt it came from a 13 year old. Implying it will never change.

I think that it was most likely because of her age. That a grown man that has excelled to become a sports champion and yet he can be sneered at like that by a thirteen year old. It would have been very hurtful.

or maybe all of the above.
Goodes said it took him back to school and the way name calling and bullying made him feel then.
