Shocking.
His son charged with murder.
My thoughts go out to the family and the Adelaide Football club. Such tragedy.

His wife was also stabbed.
I have only read that she is in hospital with "non life threatening injuries." I'm not going to indulge in guesswork, but we have been told so little about the incident that if these injuries are not in fact stab wounds then it might lead to speculation about motive.

The game between Adelaide and Geelong has been cancelled this weekend as respect for the club and players.
(GP, I get you were probably only making the point that the media is constantly out for headlines and seem to lack sincerity. I also get upset at how the media behaves most of the time.)
It's an all round tragedy whatever happened and unfortunately effects many innocent people as well.
Phil Walsh coached at many clubs and was involved coaching Port Adelaide to their only Premiership.
I believe he was there for 10 years.
Without knowing much about him, I would say, a great man lost.

Thanks, Stawka, I hadn't seen that. (note to self, always read links before commenting)

Seems a terrible thing. Looks like mental illness may be involved as son is sedated in a mental health unit and cannot even instruct lawer. I notice most cases you have a parent stabbed by a child it is due to mental illness .
