Re: AirAsia flight 'disappears'

Good, hope it is from the aircraft.

Just on the news now. It has been confirmed, debris, seats and bodies found.

It is def from the aircraft.

Afraid doesn't look good for finding survivors.

good that it has been found -

i think aps meant as opposed to

never knowing.

Correct.

I could have worded it better.

Some of the reporting leaves a bit to be desired.

The Straits tweeted a picture of a bloated body in the sea, in that article above a TV station apologised for

broadcasting pictures of body in the sea.

You have to wonder if they look at what they broadcast before hand.

as suspected - weather still likely cause:

Ice may have caused AirAsia engine damage, says Indonesia's weather agency

"Based on the available data received on the location of the aircraft's last contact, the weather was the triggering factor behind the accident," said the report, which referred to infra-red satellite pictures showing peak cloud temperatures of -80ยฐC to -85ยฐC at the time.

I'd like to see what those temperatures did to the Pitot tubes on the outside of the aircraft before it even had a chance to affect the engines.
Can't fly an aircraft if you don't know which direction it is going - Ref Air France 447 for a classic example.
