Alan Jones is vehemently opposed to the Shenhua Watermark coalmine which was given approval last week to go ahead.
The government announced the plam approval whilst Jones was out of the country and the east coast was distracted by State of Origin footy fever.
Please vote in the poll. I think it is open until 9am est.

Of course watta*drama*queen. Usually I don't like his attitude or his manners but I'm not going to knock him for doing the right thing. That would be strange.

here it is
A controversial aged care home to be built on prime public land in Sydney will no longer proceed after the Abbott government withdrew approval for the development.
In blistering interviews with Senator Simon Birmingham and Environment Minister Greg Hunt late last year, the 2GB host accused the ministers of "compromising the Prime Minister" and exposing him to a "Julia Gillard moment" where his decision to approve directly conflicted with his previous promises.
Jones even claimed the decision could cost Mr Abbott his seat.
hopefully abbott will listen to his mate in this case too, it's worth a shot

Why is it all about Tony Abbott?
The mine is in NSW. It's actually the NSW Labor Premier who has the final say in the matter, and he has given his approval. After he bought back the licences of 3 other mines in NSW just recently. What a joke.
And it was a Labor government that initially approved the Shenhua outfit mines and kicked it all off.
There's a hope that Greg Hunt will be able to halt it after he makes further enquiries as to the environmental impact studies.

When did Mike Baird switch to Labor?
The original exploration permit was approved by Labor. It lapsed and was then approved by the Libs. They've both had a hand in it so far. The 3 licences that have been bought back are the CSG licences which were covered the Sydney area.
Greg Hunt can stop the mines on the Liverpool Plains using the water trigger introduced by Tony Windsor.

And like most of the protesters, those opposing the mine in the "poll" will have little or no knowledge of the many scientific studies conducted and their findings, but are "knee jerkers" in search of a cause celebre. Mobile phone towers are "old hat" now ?
The "poll" would appear to be invalid from its incorrect question:
Should approval be given for the Shenhua Watermark open-cut coal mine on the Liverpool Plains? The mine site is supposedly not on the "Plain"
"Shenhua plans to dig a 10 million tonne per annum open cut coal mine in ridge country above the Breeza Plain".
