must admit there are a lot of AA batteries in there for transmitters.
and as mentioned, scalextric are powered via a plugpack from mains these days, hornby trains too.

Kind of ironic as it's supposed to be the healthy stuff.
It doesnt bother me though - I never buy it since I worked out it was responsible for a stint of chronic indigestion.
