American swimmers lied

They weren't "mugged" at gunpoint as they claimed. In fact they vandalised a service station bathroom and had to be subdued by a security guard.
I hope they are charged for what they did

Re: American swimmers lied

there should be a charge of 'bringing the games into disrepute'

perhaps if found guilty you cant be in the next olympics.

Re: American swimmers lied

i rekon the athletes (all of them) should be given a choice, for the duration of the games whilst living in the provided units there is no going out partying, drinking, sight seeing ect ect. your here to perform your sport, thats your job.

if you want to do those other things thats fine, pack your bags and officially leave the games, thus becomming a member of the public.

for goodness sakes, its 2 weeks, cant you just not be morons for 2 weeks?

if your finished your sport and you want to be part of the closing cerimony you must stay inside the games and stay sober.

too many athletes finish their part of competeing and think its party time, no its not, your representing your country until the close of the games unless you pack your bags and leave.

Re: American swimmers lied

Brought down the reputation of Brazil in the world media only for their own selfishness.

Ban them from the sport for life as they do not have the integrity nor role model abilities that is required.

It comes with the turf.

Re: American swimmers lied

We all agree that those swimmers need punishment, but unlike the Aussie girls that stayed the night aeay from the camp and got banned from the closing ceremony, those hooligans are American with gold medals and will get away with a slap on the wrist.

Crazy world we live in.

Re: American swimmers lied

I sincerely hope so, Stawka.

They and other big-heads need to learn some lessons.

Brazilian laws are different to American, hopefully much stricter.

I hope they do not consent to a search, remain silent, and request a jury trial. I hope the judge allows evidence from all sides and don't restrict anything that can clear them of any wrong doing. I hope they do not get raped in a holding cell and beaten up with reports being leaked that they did it to themselves.

just sayin
