trying doesn't cut it when you say you are going to stop them several thousand times, use it as a slogan to win an election then fail.

I just read this.It could help reduce the boat numbers?Get them on planes instead. That's not the type of official assistance our PM was meaning though..was it?
People smugglers selling asylum seekers passports and visas for entry to Australia by plane
Saleh, also known as Hussain Hamid Aboudi, is running a people smuggling operation from inside prison in Jakarta - with the help of prison authorities.

Iza, I didn't come up with the idea. It was you who asked me how do we stop boat arrivals, not the US Holocaust Museum.
I answered your question by showing you what has/is being considered.

DY: " Another boat yesterday with 39....It sank and those on board were rescued, somewhere near Christmas Island.
Just wanted to do my bit as the media won't tell us till Friday I suppose"
"Doing your bit" for whom DY? However is this the incident (reported by the media) ?

Do you ever wonder what might have eventuated if Rudd had not rushed in and dismantled the Pacific Solution?
I am surprised DY that you, as a history buff, have not mentioned and totally blamed Fraser et al for the whole boat arrivals saga, considering the first boat arrived in Darwin in April 1976 carrying five men. Perhaps that so enraged Abbott that shortly after he attacked that defenceless wall you so often mention when doing your bit!

rudd dismantled the pacific solution because the coubtry hated it (for the most part ) at the time. Then the arrivals were politicised by tony abbott as a wedge having hitched himself to Pauline Hansons policies (its obvious why he wanted her out of the way)
he brought out the worst sentiments and traits of australians and led them to the bottom, where gillard and then rudd again had no choice but to follow . the cycle will shift public sentiment again, and bolster the greens. unless of course shorten dumps gillard /rudd policies, thereby possibly winning those voters back.

Which LNP policy was that? Was it to buy the boats, bribe the locals, threaten to tow the boats back or insult Indonesians at every turn ?

Do you actually want to know? The policies are available on the LNP website.
