Any nomads here?

Just wondering if there's anyone else here living permanently on the road (nomad style) interested in chatting with me now and then? OK with me if by PM or on open boards. Age/sex/relationships irrelevant as only interested in friendly chat now and then.

I have a 2011 Winnebago Menindee 26.5 footer and towing a tandem trailer loaded with my 4x4 with my 12 foot tinnie on top. Vic plates. What are you in/with?

Right now I'm parked up just outside Cooktown Qld and headed across toward Darwin soon but in no hurry

I'm often out of mobile internet areas but will try to stay in touch as best I can

Been on road just over 12 months now

Isn't that obvious? If not just read my original post again asking if theres any nomads around here so it'll become more obvious

What is obvious to me, is you casting aspertions on most of the posters here by calling them childish and boring, yet you decide to make a post to seek out posters to converse with.  I hope you get lots of replies from childish and boring posters.;-)

Why would posters who don't know you at all want to chat with you privately?  That is not advisable for safety reasons.

Re: Any nomads here?

We are nomads. Been on the road for nearly four years give or take a few months. Based in Tasmania at present. Been doing house sitting to save money and have a change. We have a camper trailer and ute. Love the life. Home in Brisbane for a couple of weeks visiting family.

Generally I avoid chatting privately, but its got nothing to do with safety, I just feel its better to be seen to be open and have no hidden agenda that could cause either party to feel uncomfortable.

Wow four years, well done you!

I haven't managed to get to Tassie yet but intending to sometime during this coming summer when it hopefully warms up more.

By everything I've seen and heard its a beaut place so I look forward to the experience

I started out from south of Melbourne, headed for SA for a look around while settling in to my Winnie before heading for NSW and working my way north through central Qld. Now aiming for NT during the winter months as I hate the cold as Hawk seems to

I intend sticking to the coast areas of NT for a while before making my way back south through the centre, then head through Vic for Tassie for a few months

After that I'm thinking of WA but no set plans on that score yet

As a long termer do you have any tips for me, or particular destinations you think I should aim for along my route? All advice from a road veteran gratefully received

I met a couple of nomads who do house sitting who seem to find it the ideal way to do things but I'm not ready to do such a thing myself and not sure I ever would be, but never say never eh?

I mostly chat openly but know some people tend to feel exposed or wish to avoid bullying (way too common these days) on open message boards so made the offer to help them feel comfortable, no ulterior motives on my behalf

Add paranoid to those as it seems to be a growing general trend here, even on this thread now

When I see threads like the following how can I conclude anything else? .....

and waaay too many more like them to bother with

It appears I'm not alone on my thinking as this thread clearly shows ...

That's the real beauty of chatting and meeting nomaders, they are living life to the full so have interesting views and info to share, never boring, dull or childish
