Any sellers interested in participating in group buying from China

Any sellers interested in participating in group buying from China, lets think of products worth buying in bulk and sourcing  direct from China I've found warehouses who will unstuff the container and store a pallet for $4 per week or ship direct to you

Cat, I think it's they will unload and store on pallets, so if you have 10 pallets, will cost you 40 per week for storage and the unload is thrown in.

Most likely, kopes, but most 20's hold over 20 pallets - and depending on the value of the items (not to mention the number of sellers involved which means a lot of split csignments)  the storage will be cost prohibitive and very difficult to work out per seller.

The OP sounds like he is wanting to organise a Full GP, the biggest problem is getting the container loaded at Schenzen, or wherever in Hong Kong, if you are trying to use a number of sellers.

Someone (company or individual)  has to take respnosibilty for the container if they want to ship that way, they also need a registered freight forwarder.

A standard 20 can cost up to $1700 + just for sea freight and that is not counting the duty payable on various items, some are duty free, some may be 2.5% some 5%, and you need to be GST registered, or you will need to load that as well.

Most people who purchase pallet lots from China can organise to load on to a pre sched container coming to Oz, it is called LCL but it is very expensive.

When I last used LCL for 3 pallets of samples, the duty, clearance and shipping alone came to approx $400 per pallet.

Use a full container and you save heaps, but again, some ONE needs to know what they are doing, or it will end in disaster.

Agree, needs a centralised organiser.

Most big buying groups have a committee set up.

We had a giftware association with a commitee many years ago but most buying was services for the members and organising trade fairs.

One of the more useful tools was the regular updates as to which retailers weren't paying their bills. Would give us a heads up when someone was going under.

As you say, unless well managed could end up a nightmare.
