Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

I have become adicted to Ancestry.com and am lucky enough that one side of my family can be researched way back into the dim times.

The other side has hit a brick wall and I have to wait until someone else in the world may have more information.

How is everyone else going?

Thanks Flashie, bit hard with only that small amount of info.

Were his siblings adopted out as well purple?

Also, his war record has a conflicting birth date, it says he was born in 1919.

Re: Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

Good morning all ๐Ÿ™‚ Been off with a sore back, but here now.

That sounds so interesting purple haze, is there any chance that there would be adoption records in the local hospital? It's a long chance, but you never know.

Even worth looking in Trove, unless the surname is Smith or Brown... there may be something there.

Isn't it hard to know that some people can never be traced. My DIL's grandfather was a German in WWII, he was on the treck to Russia and vanished never to be heard of again. All his family history lost.

I have a granddaughter whose father is Nigerian, with all the troubles in Nigeria she has no grandparents, they have been killed ๐Ÿ˜ž

So many lost people, it can make me feel quite sad.

Re: Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

Hi everyone, how's your searches going? I've been busy adding people into my program and looking for info though the BDM's. I found a good friend who lives locally is also into his family history so hoping to put our heads together and see if we can share links etc. He's also using Family Tree Maker so hopefully he can show me more functions that can be used in it.

Our NZ cousin is coming over around New Year and sis & I are meeting up with him to share our latest finds which he doesn't know about. Something to look forward to.
