Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

I have become adicted to Ancestry.com and am lucky enough that one side of my family can be researched way back into the dim times.

The other side has hit a brick wall and I have to wait until someone else in the world may have more information.

How is everyone else going?

That is wonderful.

One of my dreams is to have a photo of my orginal convict ancestor.............maybe I might get lucky when we celebrate his 200th birthday next year.

Matega, great to hear you are going to be busy along with Darkie after finding more info.

Flashie, we had a BIG family reunion in 2001 for the 200th anniversary of the arrival in Aus. of one of my ancestors and took over a high school gym in Canberra for a whole weekend.  Such a lot of info passed hands and family connections and friendships made.  I hope yours is as wonderful in 2013. :-x

Now here's a funny one... you know I have been searching for information on one 'Henry Gibson' and have had no luck at all...

Well, today I went down to the P.O. and there was a letter addressed to 'Henry Gibson' c/- of my address 😮

It was all the way from Israel  HUH??

The lady said, is this for you?  My name is not Gibson, so I was confused and thought, no, this can't be for me and gave it back to her.

We both thought we would wait a day or so for someone to claim it.

I got home and then the penny dropped... it's my Henry Gibson, but why a letter addressed to him and all the way from Israel??????

Now I have to go back down to the PO to get the letter and find out what is in it....

How's that for strange?
