Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

I have become adicted to Ancestry.com and am lucky enough that one side of my family can be researched way back into the dim times.

The other side has hit a brick wall and I have to wait until someone else in the world may have more information.

How is everyone else going?

How lovely Flashie. :-x

My 16 month old granddaughter is actually having a 'sleepover' here on Tuesday night but I think her mother is going to put her on theirs anyway. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

hahahaa matega.. yes that's true indeed :^O

A friend asked me today where I found some particular information and I had to admit I didn't remember.

I suppose I should always make a note of it.

She's a professional researcher and now I feel I failed ๐Ÿ˜ž

Well, not really, but I will never be as pedantic as she is. She does actually go over to the UK to research various trees.

I self reported as the message contained a link which we really don't need...

Here it is again...

SCAM

Here's a warning for those of you using Ancestry...

I received this a few moments ago and it is probably doing the rounds...

I bought a couple of cd's with some history of the families in Sussex in the 1500's and 1600's. I anyone wants any info off them, let me know.

Thanks punchy but my family were there back in the 700s.. in the land called Mercia back then :^O

Re the scam have a rule in your head, pay for nothing unless you looked for the site or the item you wanted to pay... never pay for something you never asked for.

Wretched fellow X-(

I have been inundated over the years with people from around the globe and particularly from Africa telling me they are dying or have died and have a huge amount of money they want to send to me..

I have finally got thoroughly fed up and have become totally unpleasant and guess what? It's working!

Yes it does mean I break my own rules and use the 'F' word but my goodness they are thinning out fast. What a relief. Never thought of doing that before :^O
