Thank you all, it is a good start and will give hubby something to work with, as we have no idea on where to go with it.
Thank you again and I will come back and let you know how we go. Hubby has very little family still living and it is becoming important to him to find those that are still with us.

Hi, I watched a thread recently where some very knowledgable people helped someone find family members and I am hoping to get some ideas from you on where to find info.
My husband's sister Cheryl Ann Morgan died on November 11, 1987 around the Childers Queensland area in a car accident, leaving behind one daughter whose name is Sheree (unsure of the spelling), Sheree (sp) would be pushing 50 now and my husband would like to find what happened to her.
I am trying to do this on the quiet and that is pretty much all the info I have, where do I start?
Do you know where she went to high school? Perhaps you could try friends reunited using her high school, if she's not on there, someone who knew her might be.

Hello everyone ๐
Would like a little help if anyone has some spare time at this crazy time of the year.
I am working on a family for someone and I am really stuck with one family member.
His name is John Bryan Kerr and I can't find a birth or death for him. His parents were Donald Wallace Kerr b.1893 Vic,d.1973 Vic and Rose Ann McKenzie b. 1884 Vic, d. 1972 Vic
Don't bother entering his name into trove as you will come up with hundreds of results (fascinating but sad read though) as he was sent to jail for murder and it was a very public case so there is heaps around. He was also in trouble many years later for trying to bribe a police officer.
I have read conflicting stories about what happened when he was released from jail, one saying he moved to Sydney under another name and another one which implies that he was living in Victoria under his real name and died in Springvale in the '80s.
What I would like to know is his birth and death date also if he married or had children.
I also still have world wide access on Ancestry so more than happy to help with any new search ๐

Matilda....have you gone back a generation and seen what names show for the death notices of his parents and grandparents.

I found this from a 2003 article but I cant find a record of him at Springvale cemetery
Kerr was a radio announcer, an odd fellow. I might
say that I was at his funeral at Springvale
in the last 12 months. I kept in touch with
him and got to know his parents well.
After he was released I saw him quite
a deal. He got himself a decent job. He
was intelligent, arrogant. His conceit was
never matched in my view, but all in all he
did a great job in Pentridge in relation to
debating.
