Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

I have become adicted to Ancestry.com and am lucky enough that one side of my family can be researched way back into the dim times.

The other side has hit a brick wall and I have to wait until someone else in the world may have more information.

How is everyone else going?

The link doesnt take you straight to his details, but if you put his name in, you will find there was a death notice published in The Herald Sun on 9th November 2001.

Excellent! Thanks so much for that guys!

Punch, I had never seen that site before so not only did I get my answer I also found a new research tool, thank you!

Flashie, I had tried that on trove but didn't come up with anything.

I find it so strange that this guy did come back to Melbourne but not only that, but he went back to his real name. Interesting family his is.

Thanks again guys!

I am reading and thoroughly enjoying a book titled The letters of Rachel Henning. It is the letters she wrote in the 1850's when her brother and sister came to australia, she then followed, then went back to uk then came back to australia again. I love the descriptions of both the people she encounters on the journeys and her thoughts on australia. I am reading the physical book but i just found it is a free ebook if anyone is looking for some historical reading.

May I just take this opportunity to wish you all a safe and happy christmas however you celebrate and thank you all for assistance at various times with searches , sharing of links, and interesting information. May we all have continued success in finding out more information on our ancestors. Best wishes

Matega, my mother read me that book MANY years ago when I was younger.  Very interesting, remember.  Her copy is still somewhere around here.  Must get it out and read it now I'm an adult. :^O
