No, not this thread chappies, never this thread ๐ It was the cancer thread, I finally self reported it and now it's gone.
Actually I rather enjoyed my break but then my modem broke down and I was totally off line. That wasn't funny ๐
Family tree maker is good isn't it, glad you're enjoying it.

I've had PC problems too Darkie in the past week and had to change to another PC. Backing up everything was a pain and reloading all my programs took days. Un/fortunately I've had to do this almost every 12 months and now have it down to a fine art. :^O
jacs, they would be 2nd cousins if sharing the same great grand parents. ๐

I think you work it out by how many generations it takes to get back to the common ancestors.
1 generation.......first cousins.
2 generations.....second cousins.
Did anyone watch Who do you think you are on sbs last night....it was a repeat of Sigrid Thornton......and I had not seen it......it was a good one............she had a convict in her tree and it looked like he actually was not guilty of the crime that saw hi sent her for life at the age of 15/16
Setipus......as soon as you get the marriage certificate we are happy to have another look for you.....but until then we would only be guessing which way to go.
I am free for any searches.

Flashie, I watched and like you it was the one I had previously not seen. Interesting and she was so enthusiastic about it all. It was great.

I found a cousin living about 1hr away from me ,I ve found more cousins in England from my grandmas side of the family, Ive found some skeletons and Im having a rest for a while to recover B-) from the ooohhh & aaahhhhs.
One place that can help if u live anywhere with a a Church of Latter Day Saints not too far away. They have archives or family trees and if they don't have the info u want they can chase it up for you either from Sydney ,Melb or US. for a small fee [donation].

A few people seem to have been having PC problems by the look of it.
Mine crashed .Thankfully I had another to use within 48hrs while mine was fixed by a techie.
Some corrupt file or something.
I learnt something new recently. Some of the sites people use for searching for their ancestors actually show when someone last logged into that particular site.
So if you message someone (or email them) who hasn't been on their for a while it may be that they are no longer researching.

Just a pop in ..
I've been searching nearly all day .. its done my head in !!!
so much stuff !!
Found 2 sisters ..
First one born in 1939 .. to my mum & dad .. born @ 7 mths..
dies 3 days later .. I actually had heard about this .. but not
from my mum & dad ..
Second one I didn't know about until late last year ..
born during the war 1942 .. under a different surname ..
so that must have been when mum married the American ..
I'll keep searching tomorrow if my head doesn't explode !!

Punch, that has been a very valuable link for us. Same as Trove in Aus - FREE and very extensive. We've found lots of helpful family info that wouldn't be on Ancestry or elsewhere that has enabled us to keep on the trail. :-x
Another thing we found too was some conflicting birth info in NZ. So, my sis contacted the local church there to search their records and they are most helpful. We were then able to get birth/death certs. I suggest it as a part of your journey if you can access a local church where their religion is a known fact.
