I dont want to put too many details here without your permission, but did he die in WW1? I have found his medal card and a commemorative scroll.

There is a slim chance you could get thier service record Gill as well. Not many UK WW1 service records survived as the building they were stored in was heavily bombed in WW2. They refer to them as the burnt records.
They had my great grandfathers record, and you could see the damage on the edges.
What a shame to have lost so many records that way, but now even the damaged edges is history aren't they.
I am now having trouble with my Family Tree Maker... if it isn't one thing, it's another... oh well the phone seems to be finally fixed so might ring them and find out what is wrong with it.
Then I might get back to ancestry too ๐
does anyone know how to delete a Family Tree after you have started one please?
