I also found a Benjamin Clover Snodd born 1777 to William Snood and Ruth Clover.
I am guessing that hw ill turn out to be Sarah Snoods father....our Benjamin Clover Munsons grandfather.
I am talking to myself here aren;t I?:O

Thanks from me and on behalf of the neighbour Flashie and Punch, I have been otherwise engaged since I posted that query. Had a quick glance and yes nearly all those names match and he was married to Mary Ann Snowdon.
I will go and have a proper read of all the details you have posted, as you say it isn't a very common name so it must be him.
You know what gets me with all this family research, it's the 2nd name that seems to pop up at times without any validation for them.

Clara Munson married Claud Wright.........who is the son of Valentine Wright....the guy Benjamin Munson owned the Schooner with.
So I am convinced we have the right family.
Indigorose....I am not sure what you meant by:

The middle name....they arent always christened with it, but somehow it will turn up on marriage or death records. I think thats what she means.
Flashie, that tree with the info about the ship, I'm not convinced they owned it for the entire time. There is a link to a shipwreck website that says it was built in 1850, but registered in Melbourne in 1861.

Maybe not Punch.................but there definitely appears to be a connection between the familes.
