Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

I have become adicted to Ancestry.com and am lucky enough that one side of my family can be researched way back into the dim times.

The other side has hit a brick wall and I have to wait until someone else in the world may have more information.

How is everyone else going?

There's a Thomas Hitchman arriving in Melbourne on 1 March 1877 on the ship Somersetshire. There is then a Thomas Hitchman leaving Melbourne a few days later for Sydney on the Ship City of Adelaide.

Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

One for my neighbour please if you can.

Benjamin Munson born abt 1829 in England. Trying to find an arrival date in Australia. There are 2 entries for 1. Benjamin Munson Port Fairy to Sydney and B Munson from Elliot to Sydney in 1861 and 1862. It looks like he was a "mate" on the ships.

It's early days for my neighbour doing her tree, I am helping her and she would love it if you could find an entry somewhere.

Did he live in Melbourne? I've got a couple of birth notices for children and he had some shares in a gold mining company

Was his middle naem Clover?

I have found a death in Victoria 1901 for Benjamin Clover Munson.

Maybe not...that Benjamin Munson married Mary Jane Snowdon in 1860.

But the name in uncommon....how many of them could there be.

Punch............I amnot sure but I think there might be two Benjamin Munsons.

The one I was talking about in my past post I am not sure if he is who we are looking for.

If he was part owner then why is he showing as "mate" on the immigration thingies.

Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

There appears to only be one.

I got confused with a tree on ancestry that has teh wrong 1841 census attatched.....that particular Benjamin Munson remained in England.

I think the correct 1841 census is where he is with his mother who is now Sarah Stud.

If I am correct this should be uselful.
