Are other people fed up with all the political threads

I don't like political threads because there is hardly any real political stuff in them.. just the same argy bargy between the same old people (with personal attacks more common in those threads than other threads)... then you get the hair and glasses threads which provide a bit of light relief at least.

There was a thread started to talk politics but people cant seem to keep it all on that thread.

If this keeps up for the next 8 months, i wont bother coming in here

I also think there should be a politics board or even a 2013 election board.  I can handle the usual political threads but it is really quite rude of the same people starting so many of the same election type threads just for the sake of jamming it all up community spirits

Political thread are as relevant as a "what's for dinner" or "my cat is sick" or do you think breastfeeding in public should be allowed" thread.

People like to air their opinions about things that concern or interest them.

This is after all a community discussion board.

Yes they are relevant Icy but why so many from the same few posters.  Is a new thread necessary every time a thought enters their heads?

I think you might be right, Joono. They do start a new thread for each thought. All I can say, is thank goodness they're not quick thinkers.

I started a thread a while back asking for thoughts about having the political threads moved and I was howled down as someone that was trying to moderate the boards. And everyone had the right to say as they wish. I understand that, however the reason I asked the question is now obvious for all to see.

The problem with the majority of the Political threads is, they are usually started by the same duo, which is actually a quintet and the venom and nastiness of their Opening posts leaves a lot of folk here feeling quite confronted. Same sources used and no actual input from the actual poster of the thread. Until such time as the ridicule starts because suddenly everyone is a " Labor Luvvie "

I don't mind reading political threads as I value discussion, but these individuals are very belligerent.
