I like John Milenkovic's works - a local Sunsine Coast Artist.
Whose art do you like?

I'm a big fan of street art and really enjoyed checking out the Wonderwalls at Port Adelaide the last time I was there. Incredible work that really needs to be seen to be appreciated. It was a bit of a treat to see work by some artists who I've been following for quite a few years never expecting they would turn up in Adelaide to work.
Particularly these guys Etam Cru, the scale of this piece and the one on the other side of the building is mind blowing.
There seems to be more and more street art around including some very clever and insightful stuff. Paste ups, stencils, large scale, site specific there shoud be more of it!

Would you want some variety?
His works all look rather too colourful and adrenaline pumping, imo. Some balance required.

I agree, acid colours not my thing, you see a lot of this stuff in souvenir shops.
Ah, no you don't see this stuff in souvenir shops. You might see this stuff in a hotel lobby or a huge building but never in a souvenir shop.

I have a friend living in Seattle at the moment who posted some photos of his work, I haven't heard of him before but the exhibition looked pretty awesome
I saw an exhibition in Australia. Beautiful works on display both indoors and out.

Free form glass blowing- Chihuly is a contemporary master...
Years ago I was fortunate enough to help set up an exhibition and an interim studio for Chihuly when he visited Sydney. I didn't know anything about him before then and we had to try and find a massive studio.
I only understood when I saw in work - he would blow these huge glass spheres and then swing them around his head until they grew to a metre or or so round.
I can remember watching him thinking "If that piece of molten glass slides off that pole while he is swinging it, then I am dead!" lol.
Amazing craftsman.

Was trying to find a video of Chihuly in action but can't find anything other than some still of him throwing glass.
At about the 2minute mark on this video there are some images of how he works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETJhw9_B_X4

He has the honour of being named the very first living national treasure in the States, I believe.
