At The Carwash

Went to get my car washed today.

Hasn't been done since the bushfires.

Place was like a ghost town, only about 4 cars there, spaced well apart, where usually it's a continual producttion line.

The cafe was not only closed, but totally ripped out. The chairs were lined up with "No entry" signs stuck to them.

Where there's usually swarms of ppl running around with chamois and vacuumers, mainly students from India, by the looks, there were only about 6 ppl doing the work. Whom I recognised as mainly the managers.

One of the managers, who I see regularly hustling the washers and managing the line, was in there, shorts and a T-shirt (with the company logo), doing the job.

They even put up the bonnet and vacuumed the leaves out of the tray! Never been done before! Too busy!

I commented to the manager guy, as to how unusual it was to see him out of his white shirt and tie and into the shorts and

t-shirt.

He smiled and said, "too many Chiefs and not enough Indians, ma'am"

Woman LOL

Re: At The Carwash

I am not even sure why carwashes are allowed, as they aren't essential.

Anyone can wash their own car themselves, or just leave it for another time when there isn't a current health crisis.

I broke the law because my car was dirty and I took it to the carwash which is legally operating because it's adhering to the laws passed down by government"

Well, really.

Why would washing a car have anything to do with a health crisis?

NFS is right, Icy.

You broke the law.

The police have the power to deliver on-the-spot fines of $1,000 to individuals who breach those rules.

The maximum penalty that can be given by a court is $11,000 and six months in jail.

For anybody who is outside their house, they can only be with one other person unless they're part of your immediate family or are housemates.

Yeah right.

I was by myself. At the car wash. Maintaining a safe distance from others who were maintaining a safe distance.

Get over yourself.

Here in A.C.T, we are advised to only leave the house under certain conditions.

Those being, going to work, or essential shopping, or medical appointments.

That is not to say, people don't disobey the guidelines. An example was on the weekend, many flocked to Tidbinbilla, a nature reserve. Now it's closed because of those ones.
