Australian of the Year

I don't feel comfortable with the 2014 Australian of the Year, Mr. Goode. I just can't help feeling that if he could not handle the rudeness and bad manners of a 13 year old girl without crucifying her on most forms of social media to make a political point of his own, however justified is  concerning. I wonder how he will handle interjections and comments he finds offensive during his term of office.

What a pity that we have been reduced to having a "token" Australian of the year to apease a minority .

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

My suggestion would be someone who isn't being paid copious amount of money to play a sport or to do their employment.

Australian of the year should be a person who gains recognition for their selfess acts to the Community on a volunteer basis.

There are over 600 people honoured today for what you advocate. Isn't that enough?

We all have the opportunity to put the name of someone forward to the committee.

Re: Australian of the Year

Personally, I would have preferred either Professor Bruce Robinson or John Caldwell. Both more worthy recipients in my opinion.

Re: Australian of the Year

Az they neglected to consult the expertise of the C/S posters, very remiss of them and i have sent a stern reprimand to the committee stating that any further oversight will be punished :0
