Where has everyone else been? or where did they go when they were young?
Holidays? My mother was widowed with 5 children - me the youngest at 6 yo.
No car, no money. Never went anywhere until I was working and then nowhere special.
Struggled, always a struggle. I envy those who holidayed early in life.
I don't have any happy childhood memories.
Finally in 2004 HL and I travelled in a campervan via the coast from Melbourne over to Perth and up the west coast and over to Darwin, back down through the Centre to Adelaide and back to Melbourne. Took us 2 months and we loved it.
I have never been on a plane and don't fancy I ever will.

Far too young to be without a Dad Stawks - I was lucky enough to have mine till I was 32 - Mum - I was 48.
Holidays - well - I began in my teens - mainly the islands - close and beautiful - including NZ.
Early twenties I spent most of 2 years onboard an Italian Cruise ship - many funny stories from that time - visits were mainly the East.
Then spent 2 years working in London - flying from the US - where my BB was living at the time- so Wales, Scotland & Ireland - another few funny stories from Ireland - plus a bit of Europe.
Been back to the US more times than I can now count - given the lay of the land over there now - never again.
Then in the late 90's BB moved to Bali - so a trip to visit a couple of times a year - haven't been back since Covid.
Just noticed my Passport has expired - the first time since I was 17 - don't think it will get renewed.

That's sad, stawka.
Looking back, I don't think my parents were wealthy at all, but we weren't really aware of it as we were better off than some others in the area. Or seemed so.
We never went anywhere during school holidays, I wasn't aware it was even a 'thing'. None of my friends went anywhere either.
Sometimes in summer we went down to the beach for the day, that always seemed exciting. Moomba parades. The tivoli (my aunt worked there and we got free tickets).
On the whole my childhood was happy enough. My parents did the best they could, I guess.
Different world today. One of my daughters constantly complains about how tight things are these days, the cost of living etc. I said- yet you did a NZ cruise in Jan and you're off to Cairns for 7 days later this week & you're getting your hair done.
She said-we have to have some holidays! And we got sales on x and y. Different times, for sure!

Thought I would pop in and say hi to you all & hope everyone is ok. Have the heater going at nights with lots of fog in the early mornings but once it`s lifted the sun is out and shining. 25c expected today.:-)

25ยฐC should do nicely.
Iโm a bit of a wreck today. If I were a ship, Iโd be on a Cornish shore with locals having lured me into the rocks. โ๏ธ๐ช๏ธ๐๐ฏ๏ธ๐ฆ๐ชจ๐ฑโต๏ธ๐๐๏ธ๐ช

Similar weather this side of town.
Expected top of 26 deg today - nice and sunny.
Heater has only been on for an hour or so at night, just to take the chill off.
Countess, in that case, I'm the barnacle on your wreck.
Wrist has almost healed, but I've now 'popped' a kneecap and have to fall onto the couch - the knee refuses to bend without me screaming. Getting up is a whole 'nother thing.
I really think I've gone past my use-by date.
Still, the sun does make me smile. ๐

Oh, noโฆ imastawka, Iโm sorry you have that agony (and the horrible limits by not being able to walk). ๐ธ <- special tonic to extend use-by date
My new favourite comment: โI'm the barnacle on your wreck.โ
My knee is one of the current casualties. Lower back and hips and upper left thigh as well with alignment being thrown out.

I can walk, Countess, but with a gait like a pirate with a peg leg
