As for your injury from getting knocked down by a car, my sister, when she was younger, was docking a boat and fell off the boat onto the pier, landing on her back.
She also felt she was fine, but it turned out many years later, that she had fractured her pelvis and over the years it had calcified, giving her much pain and grief for the rest of her life.
What a mess! HL has just come home from his daily walk, and he slipped and fell on wet slippery paving. He has arthritis in his left hip and uses a cane.
It was the left hip that he landed on. Passersby were helpful getting him to his feet, but he won't go to the doctor for an x-ray. I just hope there's no ongoing problem.
