Allison Baden Clay Murder 2 years ago
I was reading up on this today, as the trial started Monday.
The senior Baden Clay was on the stand today and gave evidence about something his wife told him about his daughter in law..................................I thought they usually objected and called that heresay?
Don't they do that in Australia? have I watched too many American crime shows?

It is all very strange.

and getting stranger. I think the sister is being honest in her testimony but I wonder why the BC senior has not been asked more specific questions?

That's all they have? Her suffering from depression? Therefore, she must have suicided? Gawd, they must think that the members of the jury are stupid.

The questions asked were not really much pressure though? I thought, by the prosecution.
I recall the trial I was on, most of the jury members (inc me) were furious that they didn't ask the right questions of the witnesses, lol.
Maybe strategy? but when we asked for some specific info re evidence given during the trial, we were not allowed to have anything in print, just ask the question via a note and then instructed to either disregard it or it was verbally clarified.

well, they do think they are smarter than everyone else..................
It was very telling that the BC's and the Dickies don't socialise with each other?

Yes, not sure what their strategy is.

Not surprised that the wife of someone who was bleeping around for a good part of the marriage would be a tad depressed.

Perhaps, they are biding their time and building up GBD's character as perceived by family and friends so that when "non-personal" witnesses take the stand their testimony will be in direct contrast. Perhaps not. There will be a reason for the line of questioning.

The BC parents said G & A asked them early on in their marriage, not to call in unless they phoned first. IF A wasn't feeling too good and lying in a darkened room, why would G or A say Yes to visitors coming around?
They may clear that up later az.. About the house having drapes or blinds or not.
Does anyone else think its strange that the Inlaws would expect to just drop around when ever they felt like it ??
My inlaws and my parents would always check first before they came around.
