Baden Clay Trial

Allison Baden Clay Murder 2 years ago

I was reading up on this today, as the trial started Monday.

The senior Baden Clay was on the stand today and gave evidence about something his wife told him about his daughter in law..................................I thought they usually objected and called that heresay?

Don't they do that in Australia? have I watched too many American crime shows?

So, the lady was fully recovered and not suffering any sort of depression?

No, you don't have a point because you have selectively edited that sentence

she-ele - I  find it hard to imagine that someone driven by depression to take her own life would walk 14 kilometres in the middle of the night in order to do so.

Re: Baden Clay Trial

I am questioning the way in which this case and finding was apparently 'engineered'.

Re: Baden Clay Trial

I don;t think anyone believes she walked 13km in the night on a hilly road (4-5 hrs, unseen by any passing motorists). And if she did how did she end up dead, under a bridge with no injuries?

Have you followed the whole trial? read - the agreed evidence -  What the defence presented. What the prosecution presented.

The judges summing up?

Which part exactly are you saying is engineered?? Who engineered it? 12 jury members reached a unanimous decision.

Did I post above there are murderers in Australian jails convicted on circumstantial evidence. Baden-Clay isn't the first.

She was taking zoloft. Not major depression.  You really need to read up on the trial. Read what her health professionals said about her at that time.

I was only being selective about focusing on the words 'driven by depression' because, from experience in this, one is NOT 'driven' by the depression, one is fighting with it and coping with it. I cannot imagine anyone being 'driven' by this same depression at all. In fact PNS is not really a depression though the prescription drugs used to treat are same as drugs used to treat depression.

These prescription drugs become addictive after much use, very hard to come off, doctors have encouraged women to stay on them for the rest of their lives rather than tackle coming off them but the dosages get upped and upped over time cos body demands more........side-effects are often horrendous-did you know one of the devastating side-effects of taking anti-depressants is actually suicide?

How many times did the jury have to reconvene to ask the Judge for clarification on things esp ref. 'circumstantial' issues?

Engineered by whom? Engineering implies deliberate action.

Are you suggesting the prosecution manufactured, concealed or  distorted evidence.

Are you suggesting the judge deliberately mislead the jury in his instructions to them?

Are you suggesting there was a conspiracy between the judge and prosecution or judge and jury to pervert the course of justice.
