Allison Baden Clay Murder 2 years ago
I was reading up on this today, as the trial started Monday.
The senior Baden Clay was on the stand today and gave evidence about something his wife told him about his daughter in law..................................I thought they usually objected and called that heresay?
Don't they do that in Australia? have I watched too many American crime shows?

Why didn't he just save everyone a lot of time and money and plead guilty?

Because he thinks he will get off, is my guess.
He seems to think he can justify everything he does by blaming the women in his life. He probably spends his time in jail making plans for the future based on the idea he'll soon be free to sell his story to publishers and movie makers.

Because 'in his mind' he wasn't having an affair and in that same mind he believed he would get away with murder.
If he does succeed i'm going to need counselling after the verdict.
Don't worry................. the juror who downloaded his instructions will probably cause a bit of angst................ seriously, I can't beelieve anyone is that stupid? really?

Hope the jury have an easy day of it today. It looks like everyone is there again.

I have a serious question while we await a verdict..........................
I see people taking pics of the family members of GBC (at and near the courthouse)................ and posting them online in other places/forums.............
Is that ok, do you think? given they are not suspects, have been charged with nothing and are (probably) just supporting a family member that they love.............. and believe?

In my opinion, it isnt right, as you say, they havent been charged with anything, so why take the photos and put them up somewhere else, to my mind and I might be wrong, it is invasion of their privacy.

Katy - what I wrote about the scratches was what the Defence claims. Part of what was presented in court and what the jury has to weigh up. Not my opinion.I find it hard to believe that he would gouge his face once, and go on to do it again. Either that or he was using a bread knife to shave with.
Yes, it does sound weird, but when somebody is under stress they do not act as people in normal situation do. Would a man stop when half shaved just because he cut himself? On the other hand if somebody is scratching the face of a person who is killing them, would they use just 2 fingers? I would dig in all 4; actually, I would use both hands. And of-course, they could have had a fight, she could have scratched him, and then go out. I would not want to be the one who has to decide his guilt.

Really, I have read of other trials where jurors, have had to stay locked up & not go home over the w/end, to continure their delibrations.
Is going home a new thing?
