Heard on the news tonight both the Chan and Sukamaran families are holding open funerals for Andrew and Myuran.
Andrew Chan's funeral will be at the Hillsong Church, opposite where I work, on Friday.
I believe Sukarmarans funeral will be televised.
Wouldn't you think the families would have given their boys a dignified funeral and not made a media circus out of it?
The media will be in a frenzy.

Lets hope its a dignified funeral for the families sake. I feel so sorry for the families and the terrible circumstance they found themselves in.
They are burying their sons today, the "scum" remarks are uncalled for, the two are dead now, they are sons of the family and it's the family who are left to suffer.

I feel sorry for Andrew Chan's mum listening to the eulogy her son had written for himself it would just about tear the heart right of her chest.

I agree....
I wonder how many folk who are against the Bali duo and their families will turn up and cause trouble???
......
.....Anyway, i have a conspiracy theory.. (yeah yeah, i know! ) They were NOT executed , just made out to be.Secretly brought back to Australia, under new ID's. Its a win/win for both Australia and Indonesia and the families and of cause, the boys. The media frenzie, open funerals, etc are all to continue the cover-up.
Its just a gut feeling..... I have absolutely no proof.
But what would a story be with out a conspiracy theory to go with it!! ??
you mean they are on that island with Elvis and JFK and a whole lot of others?

They are setting the stage for the books, and TV series, maybe even movie, and selling of paintings.

The Hillsong Church has the capability of filming the funeral service. After all, Brian Houston does it often to Spread the Word.
Perhaps the service will be recorded for family/friends who cannot attend.
News to hand:
Radio announcer Neil Mitchell says that a public relations company has been used and is considering banning the broadcast. (Loosely thinking, I thought the Hillsong Church was a public relations company in itself.)

There has been no announcement in mainstream media, that either of the funerals will be televised.
Their families weren't trialled and convicted of anything. They are just families burying their sons, in a way they see fit to do. The deceased and their families had a lot of support and obviously the families want to accomodate a lot of people at their funerals.
That is not how the media works, especially some gossip rags. Dramatisation is what sells their NEWS, and what better drama than seeing a family member read out the eulegy? Perhaps even seeing that erson shedding some tears.
The Media has no feelings when it comes to making money.

The media can't be at a funeral unless the family involved says they can. That is, film crews inside the church, chapel etc filming.
Apart from in the opening post, there is no indication the funeral will be televised.

Neil Mitchell should mind his own business, did anyone ask him to broadcast it?

Yes, he should. Posting it on youtube or live streaming would be classed as televised and if he doesn't like it he doesn't have to view it.

i haven't read or heard anything about these funerals being televised, where did you hear that they would be??
I heard it on the Ross Greenwood Money Show last night.
I haven't seen it anywhere in the news today either, so they might have withdrawn.
Ross Greenwood speaks to Tim Blair from the Daily Telegraph about the open funerals of Sukumaran and Chan

Ross Greenwood claims both funerals could be televised. Then he says Sukumaran's funeral will be televised.
Either way, it is the family's choice.
