Bali holiday, what is it like ?

I have never been there and have never had any wish to go, but I feel the need to get away for a few days and maybe take
My 11 year old.

What is Bali like ?

Where do I go ? What airport ?

I am interested in somewhere clean, nice view and photography, alittle swimming in a warm water, clean spot

not sleazy or crowded, no nightclubs, no drunks or hassle

Definitely no confined animals or animal cruelty.

Hi I, I got home last Monday from Bali.
For your first trip and with an 11 year old I would suggest staying in Sanua, we call it snore coz it's full of retired ex pats and families. We spent 4 nights there this time because I'm taking my parents to bali for their first time and I thought kuta/Legian might overwhelm them. We stayed at the Sanua Oasis in a pool side room, our little patio gave us direct access into the water.
Nusa Dua is lovely but far from anything and expensive!
Yes as you walk along the streets you will be invited into shops, just politely say no or tidak and walk on. It's not hard.
We regularly stay on the beach in Legian, I love it, the food is international, something for everyone! I never go to night clubs, never get into drunken brawls, never see them either! And shock horror I have had a tattoo done in bali but no one will hold you down and make you have one!

Better places to visit than bali.

-Officals there cannot be trusted

-drunk foreigners embaress us all

-locals will grab your bags to take to your taxi until you pay them

--you will see the harsh differences between wealth and poverty which can be off putting.

Gili Trawangan is a better place to visit.

I did go to BARC and pledged to help a dog and a iguana, that might help more than me being upset by what I would see
