I was approached by a beggars this morning outside the local Woolworth's store. I had just finished my shopping when is male came over to me and asked if I could give him some change I replied that I don't carry cash on me I only use plastic. He then replied "Well you can go to the ATM and get me $20"
Me "No I can't"

The beggars in London now sit by the ATM's and ask for money when you are doing your transaction.

When I was in NZ in March, I wanted to use my Bank ATM. There was a guy squatting beside it, smoking. I moved away and sat on a seat and watched to see if he was going to move away. He didn't move, I didn't use the ATM. He seemed to have 2 friends nearby sitting on another outdoor seat.
It is not something you usually see, a person sitting/standing very near an ATM when they aren't going to use it.

Im asked at least once a week for either money, cigarettes, lighter etc.
Ive had people ask me to go into the local hardware store and buy them cans of spray paint and just last week, I had a guy corner me and try to get me to go inside the bottle shop and buy him a bottle of wine. He had a very long involved story on why he couldnt buy it himself which ended with him admitting to being banned from that particular and other local bottleshops. He should keep his stories short, the girls in the nearby chemist used the time to call the shopping centre security guards. LOL.
.
LOL Bump, I doubt he will ever ask you again, I might try the 'nagging' approach next time. :^O

Do you mean the two really fat ladies fund raising for the Diabetics Society??
Somehow when I look at them I think that the Society isn't very successful in educating people about diet.
