Being a Cop in Australia

Vision has been released of an “appalling” alleged attack on two NSW Police officers including a female senior constable who was punched and dragged to the ground by her hair before a clump was ripped from her scalp.

The officers were called to a home in Buff Point on the Central Coast late on Tuesday night after reports of a domestic incident.

William Peter Kershaw, 35, allegedly became increasingly violent and resisted arrest after police arrived at the scene.

“A struggle ensued when the officers attempted to arrest the man; the man allegedly spat in the male officer’s face,” police said in a statement on Wednesday.

“The female officer was punched in the face several times before being dragged to the ground by her hair. A clump of hair was ripped from her scalp during the arrest.

“The female officer became increasingly distressed when she was grabbed around the neck and choked.

“The male officer was then allegedly elbowed in the face and had his genitals twisted by the man before additional police assisted and released him.”

Just another day at the office for our police officers.

I would take the knee for these men and women that put their safety and lives on the (blue) line to protect the general public, many of whom wish to visit violence on them.

Being a Cop in Australia

Am wondering whether  cops might find helpful long term to rotate duties on a monthly basis with a less confrontational but physically healthy vocation such as seriously managed and supported bushland environmental work ( Same pay of course )

Another example of " being a cop in Australia " in my home state.

A few months ago a friend who sells me ebay stock from time to time, was locked up in the same city police station. He suffers from mental health problems and no doubt could make a racket when placed under severe stress.

Rather than calling an ambulance to take him to a hospital or psychiatric facility they simply bashed him until he was nearly unconscious and left him in a cell for a couple of days.....

Corruption and systemic police violence is out of control in South Australia. We desperately need a specific royal commission to clean the whole show up and restore some faith in South Australian Police.

Until that happens, dont tell me how brave and selfless the police are.. They are a mob of thugs and bullies who get off on victimising vulnerable people. Its just that most people dont see it because they are tucked up in their nice homes in their nice suburbs with the neat gardens and the little silver car in the roller door secured garage. All they see of police is the carefully edited, sanitised little snippet on the 6 O'clock news.

Its only when footage involving a black man in America comes to light that they show any compassion or indignation for victims of police violence. But that's far away in another country and its the latest lefty virtue signalling party so jump on board people...........

While there is no doubt in my mind that if you took 100 African Americans and 100 Caucasian Americans or 100 Asian Americans, the African Americans would have a higher casualty rate when in the hands of say the NYPD. The same could be said with 100 Indigenous Australians compared to 100 non-Indigenous Australians in any state. This is Australia's hideous evil criminal (even genocidal) shame and it needs to be exposed.

In saying what I did in the previous para, I do believe you have a valid point when you say, "Its only when footage involving a black man in America comes to light that they show any compassion or indignation for victims of police violence" as that appears to be the case. I'm still a Labour supporter over any other political party in Australia, but the issue has been hijacked by some kind of agenda with a "go-nowhere where it should"  lefty type of ideology.  IMO, the people behind the BLM mov't, the ones pulling the strings do not care about the brutality dished out.  They have another agenda. In short, nobody wins.

What happened to your friend sounds like something that would be deliberately overlooked. No sensationalism value there! I can just say that this traumatic event will haunt him for the rest of his life. So sad.

I have the highest respect for many policemen and women in Australia but I have none for thugs and sadists.
