another sportsman who is anything but a sportsman.

if he cant drink and not turn into a thug maybe he shouldnt drink

i think he is the vice - captain,

and therefore a 'leader' in the team he plays for so should be setting an example to all cricket people.

he obviously has a drinking problem by his past history.

the english cricket board by their actions seems to condone his off field drinking/thuggery because they have chosen to pick him in the ashes squad.

if dave warner or even steve smith or any australian player was out getting drunk and gave someone a biff, id expect him to be out of the team imediately, no mater how many centuries hes scored.

if you cant drink without becoming a thug stop drinking or stop being a representative of your country.

that goes for men and women in any sport.

its not OK for anyone to hit anyone (cept tony abbott maybe)

are we not trying to teach our kids bullying is not OK?

is he really a player we want representing cricket to kids?

he has issues

he likes to party, get drunk and hit people!

good for the game? i think the game is better off without him. IMO

i hope the cricket board wait until after the police investigation before ruling on any internal penalty, the suspension seems justified until all is known about this incident, there must be a lead-up story. but the video makes stokes position very weak.

no matter what took place before whats shown in the video, hitting people can never be condoned.

i noticed this morning a player from my footy team, port adelaide was arrested over night for assault. slightly different because hes not playing right now (seasons over), hes not representing the country (i dont think).

but i expect my club to also penalise him as a representative of the port adelaide football club, no matter how good he is on field.

and again, if you can't drink without becoming a thug....dont drink!

Having thought about this for some time my view is, even if he was provoked, the video is self explanatory.

he should be permanantly dropped from 1st class cricket.

he has serious problems that need adressing, playing cricket needs to be stopped until he can show his personal problems are cured or at least under control.

and i'd say the same if it was the aussie captain.

the fact the english cricket board have not ruled him out of the ashes is pretty bad IMO
