Bill Showbag Shorten is an embarrassment to Australia.
He wormed his way into the ceremony, at the last minute when the march had started, which he said he was not attending, nobody knew was coming.
He caught the last plane to Darwin to scurry to the ceremonies.
His speech making it about himself not serving his country was cringeworthy to say the least, and everybody there knew it was all about the cowardly attack on a decorated serving officer he refused to sack or even demand an apology from the union hack Conroy, to try to get into the good graces of the very people he let Conroy insult.
When asked by journalists, 3 times, he put the phony grin on then proceeded to praise himself on his love for the countries armed forces, it was embarrassing to watch & insulting to the troops and their families.
What a loser, but, the Labor party will stick with him because the alternative verballer Plibersek is anathema to the NSW Labor right who hate her.

Bet your'e all looking forward to Hillary getting in, that should be par for the course after Slick Willy, then jive talking Obama, we will be witness to the cover up queen Clinton.
well the republicans have made themselves virtually unelectable according to a lot of pundits . too far right, too many 'libertarians' (ha)
the democrats could run almost anyone and win convincingly. i see australia heading the same way in the next few electoral cycles, once out the LNP will be gone for a long time

they beat themselves with rupes help. the default drongo was merely lucky, at any other point in history he wouldn't even win the LNP leadership.. he owes slipper a big debt.

Unfortunatley, Labor is still in the doldrums, so looks like Mr Abbott's job will be safe for a while yet.

Governments world wide are looking to jettison the failures of adhering to left politics and are looking at Australia to see how Tony Abbott, against a hostile press and a hate filled social media campaign, managed to trounce the Labor party here by a stonking majority.
Tasmania is now trying to hoodwink the voters into thinking they have divorced the Greens and from now on they will put the people first, good luck with that....lol
This stunning Conservative win has put paid to the yearnings of the left to to rub out centrist Conservatives all over the world. And the mantra that Conservative politics has had it's day is ludicrous and wishful thinking.
Totalitarian is anathema to most thinking people and that is the reason red Gillard and all her stultifyingly blind Labor party are so infuriated and rampantly pushing their hate.

I have to agree, Shorten did make a serious error of judgement and yes, I think he ended up with egg on his face.
I didn't hear all the speeches but one thing Abbott said did stick in my mind. He spoke of the price our armed services had paid in Afghanistan and Iraq and said that '"the success was sufficient." I wish so much I could believe that, but I have felt ever since we committed to the "Coalition Of The Willing" that we were signing up fr another Vietnam, and I have a horrible suspicion that the next few years are going to prove me right.
